Rich history, breath-taking scenery, Alpaca’s and Fishing. Can you have it all on your wedding day?

Breathtaking

Yorkshire

Scenery as a

backdrop to

As my quest to bring you the very best wedding ceremony venues in Yorkshire continues, I found another true gem. The Kilnsey Park Estate. Now I always start my appraisal of a venue with ‘the feel’. This is important on so many levels, especially if you are planning to hold one of the most important days of your lives there. A warmer Yorkshire welcome you could not wish to have. When I arrived for our meeting having taken a wrong turn at a roundabout enroute the wonderful owner Amy Roberts, was waiting patiently in the well-stocked café and had a hot coffee on the table within minutes. I think that this is all I need to say about the feel and the hospitality. 10/10, and thank you Amy. That coffee was a very welcome one.

History:

I cannot do justice the fascinating history behind the Roberts family and The Kilnsey Park Estate in one short blog so here is a little potted summary.

The great, great grandfather of the current owner, Sir James Roberts was undeniably an inspirational Yorkshireman. He was the one-time owner of Salts Mill, in its heyday the largest textile mill in the world and now a world heritage site. Sir James Robert was also connected to the famous literary sisters, the Bronte’s. In 1911 his son Bertram Roberts, bought The Kilnsey Park Estate. It has remained in the Robert’s family since and his legacy lives on through its current owners Jamie and Amy Roberts. I can’t think of many things more congruent with the True to You Celebrancy values than this wonderful story. How amazing would it be to bring your family and dearest friends together here to help you celebrate the day that joins you together and opens a new chapter in your family life.

So what sort of ceremony can I have?

Amy took time to show me around the estate and explained that they are able to offer couples a blank canvas for their wedding day. The flexibility that the estate offers is ideal for those brides and grooms looking to make their wedding day truly unique, to have a day that speaks to them as a couple. The venue is a licenced venue and has a pagoda, so it is possible to combine your ceremony with your marriage admin. If however, you want to take advantage of the full estate for your ceremony then it is a celebrants dream.

From the stunning meadows to the dreamy lakeside setting, why not make your vows surrounded by the natural beauty that is the Kilnsey Yorkshire scenery. Don't forget to take a quiet moment together on your wedding day. Drink up the moment. These memories will be with you for ever.

Imagine the fun you can have with your wedding pictures with this wonderful Yorkshire dry stone walling.

Even the animals are friendly here. This is a big win if you have little children at your wedding. What a treat for them. Not something that they will get at many other wedding venues. Although I didn’t get to meet resident alpacas Titus (after Titius Salt of Slats Mill) Bertie and Silver up close, I did see them meandering around in the distance. Wedding Llamas and alpacas are bang on trend.

I made a couple of new friends.

Is there catering and accommodation?

Yes. Once again, this wonderful wedding venue offers flexibility to give you the opportunity to truly bespoke your wedding day to your individual needs. The in house award winning catering using locally sourced produce is a winner. If you already have a caterer in mind, then Amy and her team are also happy to provide your caters with anything they may need to make sure your wedding reception goes without a hitch.

The meadows are suitable for glamping if you would like that as an option on site. Locally, holiday cottages are another great idea. Situated just a short drive from the beautiful Yorkshire Dales village of Grassington, your guests are spoilt for choice.

Well. All I can say is that we are truly spoilt for choice here in Gods Own Country. If you are looking for wedding venues, or indeed a venue for any ceremony whether it be a naming ceremony or a renewal of vows, then do visit Yorkshire and make sure that The Kilnsey Park Estateis on your list of options to explore.
